Nikki was born in Seattle and is proud to be a Washinton native. She currently resides in Coupeville, on beautiful Whidbey Island.
Nikki Farias's early years were spent coloring on the walls until her mother caved in to her daughter's uncontrollable urges and reluctantly hung up butcher paper to appease the budding artist. She is still grateful to her mother for nurturing her impulse to put color where it didn't belong.
Opportunities to learn from several notable artists has helped Nikki to expand her experience as an artist using several mediums. She works with watercolor, acrylic, encaustics, collage, boxart and recently, fiber art in the form of felted purses.
Artwork by Nikki has been featured by Starbucks in Oak Harbor, Plenty's restaurant in Olympia, Bayleaf in Coupeville, Museo gallery in Langley, Artworks gallery in Greenbank, and is currently available at "Ann's Coup'd Art" in Coupeville on 9th and Center St., as well as in Nikki's studio, also in Coupeville, at 808 NE Lindsay St. She participates in the "2008 Spring Studio Tour" and will be in the "2008 Summer Studio Tour" in the late summer of 2008.
