Prospectus for Whidbey Working Artists Studio Tour 2026

We are accepting up to 12 open studios in the following zip codes:
Clinton, WA-98236
Langley, WA-98260
Freeland, WA-98249
Greenbank,WA-98253
Coupeville, WA-98239
Oak Harbor, WA-98277
ALL PARTICIPANTS will be expected to distribute catalogues and participate in marketing activities whether online or helping with signs. At this time, this Tour is run by one person, so until someone else steps up to the plate, your help is crucial.
In the event there are more than 12 studios in a given zip code, other artists within that zip code will be encouraged to align with a “host” studio. If sign up in an adjacent zip code is less than 12, that will open up spots in adjacent zip codes.
PAYMENT: WE HAVE DROPPED CAFE ENTRY DUE TO AN INCREASE IN THEIR PRICING Instead, please go to the website whidbeyworkingartists.com and click on the heading labeled 2026 Artist Registration to register and pay. If the artist button or married/life partner button does not pertain to you, please email me directly at [email protected] to finalize the amount due. Those who pay for Married/LifePartner will share a page in the catalogue; if you want separate pages there will be an additional $50 fee, in which case you will have to send a check. If you prefer not to pay through PayPal, you can send a check made out to Whidbey Island Arts Council postmarked no later than January 25th, 2026
Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis with a $50 administrative fee for withdrawals. If you withdraw after the catalogue is proofed for print, there will be no refund available.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Please describe your art and process in 35 words or less. What is going to make people want to see your art? Also of note, artist’s statements must be 35 words or less. Any statements over this amount will be subjected to AI for a rewrite.
BUSINESS LICENSE
You must have an active WA State Business License (UBI number) You can go to this link to get one if you do not already have one. https://dor.wa.gov
ONLINE MARKETING
Be prepared to list your website, Instagram/Facebook accounts. You MUST have an online presence! Social media will no longer be a requirement; a website or link to a gallery will suffice for an online platform.
IMAGES
Please submit 3 images that are professional quality images of at least 6MB (900X900 pixels) These images should be representative of what you will be displaying on the tour as visitors often come looking for what they see in the brochure or on the website. The images you submit WILL BE the images we use for promotion, and we will not accept images being submitted otherwise; because your image will also be considered for the lead image of the Tour, please meet the digital size and format requirements. If your image is chosen, we will issue a waiver. Please limit your images to your artwork and refrain from including a picture of yourself.
Please provide driving directions from Highway 525/20 in as few words as possible. These can be added in the section that is provided for your artist statement. IF you have participated in the Tour in the last two years and are happy with your driving directions, you do not need to include it in your application.
Please identify whether you are 2D or 3D art and then the medium. For example: 2D-Painting
All artists are required to be a member of the Whidbey Island arts Council.

Once we receive record of your payment, you will be sent an invitation to upload your Artist Folder to our Google Drive set up for this year. Please label the folder with your name.
Items 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9 to be submitted in PDF format and included in your folder labeled with your name followed by 26, for example, JaneDoe26; images should also be included in your folder per the size requirements listed above, and labeled, JaneDoe1, JaneDoe2, etc. PLEASE: Do not imbed the images in your PDF. They must each be a separate entity in your folder.
