I persistently paint the human figure trying to understand the human condition.  My current work explores our relationship to patriotism and to strong female icons of our democracy.
Recently, I am celebrating in a series of paintings the strength of women. We certainly all have had a relationship with one. I want to focus on the courage and heroic gestures I see women doing everyday. I have re-imagined and modernized the ancient seven virtues of Prudence, Justice, Temperance, Fortitude, Faith, Hope and Charity.
