About Artist Statements
Trouble writing an artist statement.? Here’s a resource. http://www.artbusiness.com/artstate.html
Use your artist statement to connect with potential visitors. What’s going to make people want to see your art? In 35 words or less make visitors want to come to YOUR studio. Please have someone else read your statement before you submit it!
Consideration will also be given to participants who have a strong record of volunteering their time with the tour.
Registration fee is $225 and the $15 registration fee for each artist will be included in final fee total. This covers marketing and a limited amount of professional services. We will have art and information displays in at least one local library. Participation in the displays is not mandatory.
We will have an organizational meeting and potluck Thursday, June 25 details TBD. (We are looking for a host for this event. Can you host?) This event is very important! If you can’t come be prepared to send someone on your behalf.
Our ‘copy and paste’ on-line registration form will works best if you have a high speed internet connection. We suggest you resize your images, write and do a word count of your artist statement, write your driving directions, scan your business license and otherwise be completely ready to register when registration opens. Have all your information ready to copy and paste into your form when you log on. This will help you avoid website ‘time outs’ due to long delays in registration completion. If you have problems uploading material or filling in the form an email address and link will be provided on the same page.
Please note: YOU MAY NOT SUBMIT LATE MATERIALS OR MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR APPLICATION OR IMAGES ONCE YOU HAVE SUBMITTED YOUR REGISTRATION. Your application will be considered ‘complete’ once you click the website submit buttons. Gone are the days when you could submit an application by the drip method!
